Caring for Your Privacy & Rights

Effective Date: April 20th, 2025

Privacy Policy

At ABE, your story, your choices, and your privacy are treated with the deepest respect. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect your personal information because trust is the foundation of everything we do.

1. What We Collect:

We keep it simple and only gather what’s needed to offer you a supportive experience:

  • Personal Information – such as your name, contact details, and payment information.

  • Health-Related Details – only what you choose to share with your practitioner.

  • Technical Info – like IP address and site usage patterns, to help us improve the platform.

2. Why We Collect It:

We collect your information so we can:

  • Connect you meaningfully with practitioners who can support you.

  • Ensure the platform runs smoothly and securely.

  • Fulfill legal and ethical responsibilities.

3. How We Protect Your Information:

Your information is protected with care:

  • Secure encryption and trusted data storage.

  • Limited access — only those who need it can see it.

  • Full compliance with privacy laws like PIPEDA and HIPAA (where applicable).

4. When We Share Information:

We will never sell your information. Ever. We may share limited data, but only:

  • With the practitioner you're working with just what they need to support you.

  • With trusted third-party services (like secure payment processors), all under strict confidentiality.

5. Your Rights:

You have full agency over your information. You can:

  • Request access to your data at any time.

  • Ask for corrections or deletion of your information.

  • Opt out of non-essential emails whenever you like.

Terms of Service

Welcome to ABE. By engaging with this platform, you're agreeing to a few simple guidelines that help keep our community safe, respectful, and grounded in trust.

1. What We Offer:

ABE is a virtual space where people can connect with independent practitioners offering end-of-life care, guidance, and support.

Please note: We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. What we offer is deeply personal but not clinical.

2. Your Role

To help build a space of trust and integrity, we ask that you:

  • Be open and truthful when sharing your story or needs.

  • Respect the personal and professional boundaries of your practitioner.

  • Understand that ABE Care facilitates connections—we don’t supervise, direct, or manage practitioner services.

3. Practitioner Commitments

Each practitioner is an independent professional responsible for their own practice. We ask them to:

  • Uphold confidentiality and professional standards

  • Operate within the laws and ethical guidelines relevant to their field

4. Payments & Refunds

We will never sell your information. Ever. We may share limited data, but only:

  • Payments are processed securely through trusted third-party systems

  • Refunds are handled directly by each practitioner, based on their individual policies. If you have questions, we encourage you to speak directly with your practitioner.

5. Limitations of Liability

While we strive to keep this platform reliable and supportive:

  • ABE isn’t liable for the outcomes of your sessions

  • We’ll do our best to address any technical issues, but we can’t guarantee everything will run perfectly all the time.

6. Keeping Things Current

These terms may evolve as our offerings grow. By continuing to use ABE, you're agreeing to the most recent version of our terms.

A Gentle Reminder

At ABE, we believe in the power of compassionate presence and holistic support. That said, there are a few important things to keep in mind.

1. ABE is not a Medical Service

The support offered here is personal and holistic but it is not medical or legal advice. If you require medical attention, please consult a licensed healthcare provider.

2. Practitioners are Independent

Practitioners who offer support through ABE are independent professionals. While we help make meaningful connections possible, each practitioner brings their own training and approach, and works autonomously.

3. If You are in Crisis

ABE isn’t equipped to respond to crises. If you or someone close to you is in immediate danger or distress, please call emergency services or connect with a trusted crisis line or healthcare provider.
